Stavan John

Mr Stavan N. John joined SAIACS as a faculty-in-training in the Theology Department after completing his MTh at SAIACS in 2015. Earlier, in 2010, he graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with an MDiv. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Theology from the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies. His thesis focuses on Thomas F. Torrance’s Theology of the Ascension. He hopes to complete his studies in 2021.

Mr Stavan’s area of interest within theology is Christology, particularly the Humanity of Christ. Apart from theology, he enjoys discussions about how sports can be formative in one’s spiritual life; he also occasionally enjoys reading works of fiction by John Grisham, and is an avid cricket fan.

Mr Stavan is married to Christina Martin, and they both enjoy leading a youth group in their local church.
