The Certificate in Theological Librarianship (CTL) aims to train men and women to manage and to provide innovative and effective library services to cater to the information needs of its clients in theological institutions and seminaries. Towards this, the CTL offers theoretical and hands-on training in Library Organisation and Management, Library Automation and Networking, Information Sources and Services, and Library Classification and Cataloguing. This is augmented by field visits to major theological and other libraries.

The CTL is recognised by the Forum of Asia Theological Librarians (For ATL), Indian Theological Library Association (ITLA), Asia Theological Association (ATA), Board of Theological Education for Senate of Serampore College (BTESSC) and other accrediting agencies in India.
Entry Requirements
- The candidate must have:
- A minimum qualification of 10+2 and/or a minimum of one year’s work experience in a seminary library
- The ability to read, write and understand English
- Computer literacy is an added advantage

Library is an important part of a learning institution and trained librarians play a significant role to support the learning and teaching programmes of an institution. There are many Indian theological colleges and seminaries in great need of skilled personnel to manage their library resources and services. In order to cater to this need, SAIACS offers a 3-month certificate course in Theological Librarianship from January 2020 to March 2020.
